This report contains an study of existing systems of Montgomery College Student Services Center and an analysis into possible mechanical, electrical, and lighting improvements in the building. The mechanical change includes a computational fluid dynamics analysis of changing the building from single-duct variable air volume terminal units to series fan-powered variable air volume terminal units to increase airflow and occupant comfort. The electrical change includes the feasibility of changing the building to net-zero using photovoltaics. The lighting change includes changing the building to LED fixtures from fluorescent fixtures to reduce energy consumption. All analyses also include a study in economics.
