Lighting

Due to the increased energy consumption of the series fan-powered VAV boxes, other means to reduce energy consumption will be investigated. A lighting breadth will be conducted to change the fluorescent fixtures to LED fixtures. The entire building currently uses fluorescent fixtures, which have a high lighting power density (LPD). By changing to LED fixtures, annual energy usage will be reduced, which is beneficial for both the environment and the finances of the owner.

Electrical/ Solar

An investigation will be conducted into the usage of solar panels in order to offset the increased cost and energy consumption of the series fan-powered VAV boxes. The proposed location for these would be on top of the roof-mounted custom air handling units, and proper direction would be calculated based on solar angles.
